It’s a little unnerving with a mammogram when they ask you to come back, isn’t it? But like I said, I’m in the better-safe-than-sorry camp. So glad you’re keeping up, Heather! I’m sure the hubby wants you to protect the girls too.

Oh no, Greg. I wasn’t feeling accused at all. 🙂 I personally have supported Komen in the past. I have several friends and family who have experienced breast cancer, so I look for ways to support their cause. But I had been unaware of their support of PP before. Now I am. Thanks for the information here!

I have had two annual mammograms, and I have been called back for more extensive testing twice. And most recently got invited for the sonogram as well. They did find a cluster of cysts. I like how they tell you it’s nothing to worry about, but then make sure you get tested again in six months instead of a year. Even with the scares, I’m glad to know there’s a way to keep them safe! I like the idea of having the hubby be the one to do the in between exams!

Komen has re-instated their support for planned parenthood. When you donate to Komen, you are donating to planned parenthood; and planned parenthood doesn’t do mammograms.

Sorry–wasn’t implying you were; just (like you shared) wanted people to be aware of who Komen still supports.

Yes, I was aware of this news story. I am certainly not a Planned Parenthood fan, and it was wise for Komen to drop their support. The two organizations don’t overlap much in their goals anyway. It is a heads-up for people to check out charities as much as they can ahead of time. Thanks, Greg!
