This was a thought provoking read.

Our loved ones do matter. from our adult kids, pur grandchildren, our friends. (even people we don't know) and of course our own spouse.

This pandemic (and now the rioting) is drawing my wife and I so close. because our professional responsibilities have altered in a way that we spend more time with each other. I myself have a much greater appreciation of who my wife is as a person as I'm more present to witness the little things that she does, that I sometimes have taken for granted.

We've spent a lot of time reflecting on the 40 year journey we've been together and we find ourselves playfully razzing and teasing each other. But also praying and thanking God for what he has done for us. Watching old romantic movies made before our birth, watching HGTV and trying to avoid watching the negativity and evil exploitation being practiced by social terrorists we are surrounded by.

She is really sweet and intelligent, not a negative bone in her body which is a soothing remedy to calm the hearts of those who are around her. We must still act like kids, because I don't know any 60 year olds (besides us) playing Mario kart video games. (it's the only video game either us play)

It shouldn't take a pandemic to remind any of us that "Loved ones do matter" but the amount of extra quality time we've spent together and the added emotional lift we've given to each other, is partially a result of the pandemic.

From our isolated vantage point, (from far away) the start of the pandemic and what triggered the rioting who have tragically perished from the beginning and up until now, we look at life as a precious gift from God and we are more "cling-y" to each other, than we ever have been before.
