I totally get it. Right now we have one of our kids getting married. I feel like an after thought. In fact, I realize that I have been an after thought for a long time. I want to celebrate the small things. There are times when our relationship shines. Yes, those are rare, but I can’t do anything but hope for the future. Not a lot of hope, at least at the moment, but still hope.

Mutually satisfying doesn’t mean each getting everything they want. Rather, a couple creates deep emotional connection through physical intimacy and finds contentment in that relationship and those experiences. And I can easily think of many couples who would say they have mutually satisfying sex in their marriage. Is it perfect? Nope. But is it good? Yep.

I’m sorry that has not been your journey. I always pray for couples to find greater intimacy, somehow. Blessings, Goldtop57!

Yeah, like parenting or lifelong faith. Not easy, but such purpose and reward.

However, given the nature of relationships and sex it really is impossible. A couple may get to a place of mutually acceptable resignation but not mutually fulfilling.

One will always be pressed to have sex more than they truly want and the other experience rejection, frequently.

Either way it isn’t truly mutually satisfying.
