In reply to Ruthie. I have heard those concerns too, but I can assure you that many young women I know—who have some feminist attitudes—still want good marriages, children, and work-life balance. Also, when men get more involved with their kids, it helps a young woman to feel more open to taking on motherhood. There really are good, godly men and women out there. I have a young 20s daughter and a son, and yet I am more concerned that my son won’t find a good, godly woman, than I am worried that my daughter won’t find a good, godly man. It’s just my perspective, but I’ve heard 20s guys complain it’s really hard to find traditional wives type today. Many young men say the women available (even Christian women) have feminist mindsets, and are more interested in pursuing careers than raising a family. I think it’s important we raise our boys to desire to be good husbands and fathers and to raise our daughters to desire to be wives and mothers. Instead of punishing the opposite sex for being masculine (“toxic masculinity”) or feminine (“too emotional “) we should embrace and appreciate these natural distinctions.

I was listening to a podcast recently where the guest, a university professor, said that his students all know that the screen time they had was not good for them, especially how it left them without the skills to connect well with others in person. I'm glad you're working on changing that in your own marriage. Keep at it!

Me and my spouse have to seek out help because we are part of the younger generation that grew up plugged into a computer. That takes a toll on your mind and really confuses a person. It made it so that being a forward and honest person was weird, but being a digital person was acceptable. We’re still working through the mess! It’s still difficult having an intimate relationship, even after years of marriage.

Excellent thoughts. Ive been perplexed by another ministry who to me got sadly stuck on the very same "purity culture" battle. It's had to of been 3 years now. Unfortunately every time I try to check in on them it could have been a repeat episode from years ago, its so sad. I left a comment in that regard and was almost attacked for somehow not being compassionate to the victims of it. They completely missed the thought. It in no way denies the terrible teaching that apparently some churches taught and the mental and emotional abuse that some we certainly victims of but when is it time to heal and move forward. I hope this isn't viewed with the same disdain but in light of the excellent thought of the post written here. Thank you J for your continued faithfulness to all, no matter what generation we grew up in. Thank God for a loving, Godly father. Amen,
